Under-17 Football Tournament inaugurated in Gopalganj on Youth Festival

A 12-team Under-17 National Gold Cup Football Tournament has been inaugurated in Gopalganj on the occasion of the Youth Festival. The district administration and the district sports office organized the tournament.
The football tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj at 10 am on Wednesday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Md. Golam Kabir presided over the discussion meeting, and Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Mohammad Lutful Kabir Chandan spoke.
At this time, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department of the Deputy Commissioner's Office Bishwajit Pal, Tungipara Upazila Executive Officer Moinul Haque, District Sports Officer Md. Shahin Sultan Raja and officials from various departments were present.
In the opening match of the knockout system, the Gopalganj Municipality Girls' Team faced the Tungipara Upazila Girls' XI. In the game, the Tungipara Upazila Girls' XI defeated the Gopalganj Municipality Girls' XI by 2-0 goals and qualified for the semi-finals.
The National Gold Cup Football Tournament will conclude with the final match on Friday (January 24). Six girls' and six boys' teams from 5 upazilas and 2 municipalities of the district have participated in this tournament.
