Minister Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh MP gave this order to the concerned in the chief guest's speech at the ADP implementation progress review meeting in the meeting room of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Minister Bir Bahadur Ushai Singh MP also said that the revenue and expenditure of the government's development work should be properly accounted for.

He said that how much development work has been done and how much is left should be monitored by the concerned officials. He said that the government implements development work for the welfare of people.

In the meeting, Minister Bir Bahadur said to the stakeholders of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board that special attention should be paid to the neighborhood centers. He said that the houses in the neighborhood need to be repaired and constructed anew. He directed the concerned to bring agriculture, health, education, solar panel electricity facilities to all living in the slums.

Minister Bir Bahadur also said that mixed fruit farming, coffee, cashew nut, cotton, ikchu and masala cultivation in hilly areas will change the fortunes of farmers. The minister directed the concerned to provide necessary training to the farmers in mixed fruit cultivation, cashew nut, coffee, iksu and masala cultivation in the three hill districts. He directed the concerned to create gardens in a planned manner keeping in balance the environment. The minister suggested to create gardens in three hill districts in coordination with the concerned.

In this regard, the minister emphasized on the concerned to create forests, extract water sources and garden in a planned manner while maintaining jum cultivation. The minister directed the concerned to act now to make the developmental works visible by June.

In the president's speech, the Secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Mosammat Hamida Begum said that the concerned should pay special attention to the speed of work. Failure or delay in filing is an offence. The secretary instructed the concerned to be careful in this regard.

In the meeting, construction of cold storage in three hill districts, sustainable social services project in Chittagong Hill Tracts, mixed fruit cultivation and spice cultivation project, construction of Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council Complex, implementation progress of ADP projects and development assistance under implementation in 2022-23 fiscal year.

Allocation of projects and overall progress are discussed.
