There has been a complaint of forcibly constructing a wall by occupying privately owned land in Natore's Baraigram upazila.

In this incident, the owner of the affected land filed a case in the name of three persons including the head teacher, the upazila and the district education officers.

According to the case and local sources, in 1930, Karam Ali Sarkar of Darikhoir village of the upazila donated two bighas of land and established Darikhoir Government Primary School with the help of locals. But recently the school authority started construction a wall behind the school building by occupying 18 decimals of land of the mahogany garden at 142 No. haldag of Dontula mouja. The owner of this 142 no plot of land is Golam Mostafa Sarkar, son of deceased Karam Ali Sarkar.

At this time, they also cut some mahogany trees. After getting the news, the land owner ran to various offices including school authority and upazila education officer. But got no result. This incident has caused intense anger among the locals.

In this regard on Saturday, the victim Golam Mostafa Sarkar said, the school was established on the land given by my father.

Later I also left some space while making new buildings. But for the last 52 years I have been occupying the land. Now they are occupying 18 decimals of the land illegally with a wall. I want justice.
However, the Headteacher of the school, Nazrul Islam, said that it is the school's place.

We are making wall of the school grounds. However, when asked why Golam Mustafa has been occupying the land of the school for so long, he refused to say anything.

Upazila Education Officer Mizanur Rahman said, according to my knowledge, the wall is being built at the school site. But since he has been recalled by the court, the matter will be dealt with there.
