Jubo Dal leader Iktazul Rahman has allegedly beat and injuring Jahangir Alam Biswas, deputy assistant community medical officer of Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex in Chuadanga.

The incident took place at around 11:30 pm on Saturday in the hospital premises. Iktazul Rahman is a member of the Jibannagar Municipality Jubo Dal convening committee.

Doctor Jahangir Alam Biswas said, when I reached the health complex premises at around 11:30 pm after finishing my private practice, Iktazul Rahman started abusing me in foul language. He told me that you used to be an Awami League member and started beating me indiscriminately with a large torch light in his hand. I suffered severe injuries on my head and face. I immediately sought treatment.

He said, I informed my superiors about the matter that night. The authorities have instructed me to file a written complaint with the police station.

Health and Family Planning Officer of Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex Maqbul Hasan said, I was informed about the attack verbally. He was not on duty at the time, he was returning from outside. Legal action will be taken in this regard.

In this regard, Chuadanga Civil Surgeon Hadi Zia Uddin Ahmed said, the Health and Family Planning Officer of Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex informed me about the attack. I have informed the Chuadanga Police Superintendent, Jibannagar Upazila Executive Officer and the officer-in-charge of Jibannagar Police Station about the matter. And I have been asked to file a complaint with Jibannagar Police Station in this regard.

Regarding the attack on the doctor, Jubo Dal leader Iktar Rahman said, I have a very good relationship with the doctor, it happened due to an argument.

We have resolved this issue by sitting with the local elders and THO. Sorry brother, such an incident will not happen again.
