A BNP leader in Bandarban has alleged that he was framed and harassed in a false murder case filed by an Awami League leader just because he was involved in BNP politics. BNP leader Deepak Baroya made this allegation at a press conference held at the Bandarban Press Club auditorium on Monday (January 27) afternoon.

At that time, he said, I have been involved in BNP politics since 1978 and served as the chairman of Ghumdhum Union for 12 years as a BNP candidate. Due to that, BNP and I have wide popularity in the area. Taking advantage of this popularity, the Awami League's power to frame and harass me and my family, the dictatorship involved me and my family in the Emon Baroya murder case through former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's personal assistant Biplob Baroya.

However, in 2019, a local disorderly youth named Emon Baro-ya fell to his death on the road in his middle age. Tanni Baro-ya, the sister of the deceased, the leader of the Cox's Bazar District Women's Awami League and a close associate of Barrister Biplob Barua filed a murder case, accusing me and my other two brothers of being accused in this false case. After serving a long one and a half years in prison in this false case, my brother and I were released on bail. He further said that even after the fall of the fascist Awami government, Putul Rani Barua the mother of Emon Baro-ya, an accomplice of tyranny, has been spreading misinformation in my name in various ways. At this time, he strongly demanded the withdrawal of the political false case filed by Tanni Baro-ya, the leader of the Cox's Bazar Municipal Women's Jubo League, and bringing the godfather of the Awami League, Fascist Dalim Baro-ya, under the law.

It is mentioned that in April 2019, a murder case was filed against 7 people, including Deepak Baro, in the murder of Emon Baro in the Manjoy Para area of Ghumdhum Union in Naikshongchhari Upazila of Bandarban.
