The date of the cluster admission test for general, science, and technology (GST) universities for the new academic year has been finalized.

As before, the 22 universities will be there. Application online for admission will start from April 18 and will continue till April 30. Besides, the admission test will be completed by June 3. Besides, there is an opportunity to take the test a second time.

On Sunday, after an urgent meeting of the vice chancellors regarding the cluster admission test, Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Imdadul Haque told this information.

Prof. Imdadul Haque said that according to the order of the president, 22 universities are being grouped. Cluster admission test dates have also been finalized.

However, due to the Jagannath University Academic Council meeting, the admission notification release date has been postponed by a day. The admission notice will be published on the GST website tomorrow (Monday, April 17) night. The next day, Tuesday, April 18, the admission notice will be published in the newspaper.

The member of UGC, Professor Dr. Alamgir Hossain, said that everyone is bound to accept the president's decision. If they had taken any interim decision earlier, it will not be effective now. The admission process will be conducted by the universities, as in previous years, and the UGC will look after the overall issues.

Earlier on Saturday, 22 universities were ordered to stay in the cluster in a notification from the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on the instructions of the President.

According to the order and the intention of the President and Chancellor of the Universities, the Bangladesh University Grants Commission has been given the responsibility to complete the

admission test program in the 2022–23 academic year with the participation of all the public universities that were involved in the cluster admission test in the past.

At the same time, the UGC has been tasked with taking the necessary initiatives to bring all public universities under the single admission test starting in the academic year 2023–24.
