Cumilla University closed sine die

Comilla University announced to be closed indefinitely Due to the situation arising out of the Vice-Chancellor-Teacher Association conflict, it has been decided to close Comilla University till further orders.
The decision was taken at the 93rd emergency syndicate meeting of the university on Tuesday (April 30). Students were also instructed to leave the residence halls by 4pm on Wednesday (May 1). Comilla University Public Relations Officer Emdadul Haque confirmed the matter.
He said that in the emergency syndicate meeting, it was decided to form two committees to resolve the ongoing situation. It is reported that an emergency virtual meeting of Comilla University Syndicate was held on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting decided to close the university and residential halls till further instructions. Besides, two committees of the university will be formed after discussion. One is about the demands of the teachers and the other is the inquiry committee into the incident that happened in the university on April 28.
When asked about the decision of the Syndicate, Mehdi Hasan, General Secretary of the Comilla University Teachers' Association, said that when the entire university's teachers and students went against the Vice-Chancellor, he had no moral standing. All his administration colleagues have resigned. Now he realizes his downfall is only a matter of time. So he tried to waste time.
