Four members of the same family, including a child, were killed in a collision between a truck and a private car in Osmaninagar, Sylhet. The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Osmaninagar upazila at around 7:50 am on Sunday while they were going to Sylhet from Bhulta Shinglabo area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj.

The deceased are - Sohel Bhuiyan (33), son of Sultan Uddin Bhuiyan of Bhulta Shinglabo area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj, a Dubai expatriate, Sohel Bhuiyan's sister-in-law Saima Akhter Iti, sister-in-law Shamima Yasmin, and Saima Akhter Iti's child Ayan. Besides, Sohel Bhuiyan's wife Sabina Yasmin has been admitted to Sylhet Medical College Hospital in a critical condition. Her condition is said to be critical.

The matter was confirmed by Osmannagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Monayem Mia. He said that at 7:50 am, a Dhaka-bound truck and a Sylhet-bound private car collided in the Unish Mile area of Osmaninagar Upazila. Two people were killed on the spot. Two more died after being taken to the hospital.

They were all passengers in a private car. They were going to Sylhet from Bhulta Shinglabo area of Rupganj Upazila in Narayanganj in the private car. The truck that was involved in the incident was seized, but the driver is absconding.

Asma Begum, the aunt of the deceased Sohel Bhuiyan, said that three days ago, his nephew Sohel Bhuiyan came to his house from Dubai for a short time. He was supposed to leave for Dubai again on February 5. Sohel Bhuiyan, Sohel Bhuiyan's sister-in-law Saima Akhter Iti, sister-in-law Shamima Yasmin, and Saima Akhter Iti's child Ayan left for Sylhet early in the morning for a trip. Later, they learned that the four died in a collision between a Dhaka-bound truck and a Sylhet-bound private car in the Unish Mile area of Osmaninagar upazila. In addition, nephew Sohel's wife Sabina Yasmin is fighting with death.

Meanwhile, the families of the deceased are mourning among their relatives after receiving the news that four people from the same family were killed and injured in a road accident.
