The 'BAUET Annual Sports Competition and prize distribution ceremony 2025' was held in the afternoon at the central playground of the Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET) campus.

The event, organized on Wednesday was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Brigadier General Md. Mizanuzzaman as the Chief Guest.

In the morning, the national flag and the university flag were hoisted, followed by a dove release and the lighting of the inaugural torch for the 2025 Annual Sports Competition. The opening ceremony began with a Guard of Honor presented to the Chief Guest by a group of skilled BAUET BNCC cadets. The Convener of the BAUET Annual Sports Competition and Dean, Faculty of Science and Humanities, Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, delivered the welcome speech.

Sportsmen Tanveer Neaz Fahim, a student from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Nure Fatima Rasa, a student from the Department of English, lit the sports torch and completed a lap around the field.

The ceremony was also attended by University's Treasurer, Colonel Md. Shawkat Hossain, PSC (Retd.), Registrar Lt. Colonel KFA Shohel (Retd.), Dean, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Mohammad Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, Proctor & Associate Professor of CE Department Engineer Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman, Student Welfare Advisor & Assistant Professor of Mathematics Department Md. Masudar Rahman, Heads of Departments, Deputy Registrars, faculty members, staff and students.

A total of 24 events were held for both boys and girls in different categories, including 'Dress as You Like' competitions, with medals awarded. The CE Department topped the medal tally, securing 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 3 bronze medals. The event was narrated by students from the CSE department, Sadhman Ahmed Turya and Maisha Tasmin.
