Some 75 meritorious students of various departments of Dhaka University Biology Faculty were awarded 'Deans Award' for their outstanding results in the 2021 and 2022 graduation (honours) examinations.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan presented the awards to the students as the chief guest at a function organized at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Tuesday.

Dean of the Faculty of Biology Prof Dr. Md. Enamul Haque presided over the function, while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha and Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury spoke as special guests. The chairpersons of various departments announced the names of the awardees. The chairman of the Department of Botany, Prof Dr. Mihir Lal Saha, expressed his vote of thanks.

Vice-Chancellor termed the meritorious students as the social assets of the country and said that the meritorious students should be utilized properly to make Bangladesh a developed country. He congratulated the Deans Award recipients. He called on the meritorious students to play an effective role in ensuring social security in the country and strengthening the relationship between the university and alumni.
