Action against charging extra fare for Eid journey in Barishal: DC Delwar

Barishal Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Delwar Hossain has said, legal action will be taken against the transport involved if they charge extra fare from passengers during the upcoming Eid.
The DC said these in his speech as the president at the March meeting of the District Law and Order Committee held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room on Sunday morning.
He said that the law and order forces will have to be more proactive in strengthening the security of passengers on launches.
It was informed at the meeting that a total of 273 crimes were committed in February.
Of these, 100 were committed in the Barisal Metropolitan area and 173 in 10 upazilas of the district.
Senior officials of the administration including the army, RAB, police and members of the law and order committee were present at the meeting.
