
Jamaat holds rally in Jhenaidah, submits memo on 5-point demands including PR

Jamaat-e-Islami has held a rally in Jhenaidah and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Advisor on 5-point demands including implementation of the July Charter, elections through the PR system.
A rally was taken out by the district Jamaat from the city's central Shaheed Minar square on Sunday morning.
The rally circled various places on the Jhenaidah-Chuadanga highway and ended in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office. Later, the memorandum containing their demands was submitted to the chief advisor through the Deputy Commissioner.
Earlier, in a short rally at the Shaheed Minar square, District Jamaat Ameer Professor Ali Azam Md. Abu Bakr, Nayeb Amir Abdul Alim, Secretary Prof Abdul Awal, Assistant Secretary Kazi Sahir Ahmed, Central Shura Member Prof. Matiar Rahman, Baitul Mal Secretary Tajul Islam, Sadar Branch Amir Dr. Habibur Rahman, City Branch Amir Adv. Ismail Hossain and others spoke.
Speakers demanded the implementation of the July Charter and holding elections under the PR system before the elections in February. They also demanded the banning of the activities of 14 parties including the Jatiya Party and a visible trial of the genocide and corruption of the fascist government.
