Human chain, memo submitted demanding cancellation of polling station relocation in Kurigram

Kurigram Correspondent.

Local residents have formed a human chain and submitted a memorandum demanding the cancellation of the relocation of the polling station in Kurigram.

A human chain was held in front of the Kurigram Election Officer's office on Sunday afternoon demanding that the polling station of Madhupur Government Primary School in Ward 02 of Ulipur Dharanibari Union not be shifted. During the hour-long human chain, former UP member Saher Ali said that we, the residents of Ward 2 of Dharanibari Union , have been voting at this school for 35 years since the country's independence .

A sinister group is suddenly conspiring to shift this polling station, and this will not be accepted under any circumstances. ATM Rasheduzzaman, convener of Dharanibari Union Jubo Dal, said that the friends of the previous Awami League are trying to shift it.

Shafiqul Islam said that all the facilities including communication system for voting are available in this institution. Therefore, we seek the attention of the higher authorities to maintain the polling station, which is our life's demand.

After the human chain , a memorandum was submitted to the District Election Officer.
