: Kalapara Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Kuakata Municipal Administrator Yasin Sadek inaugurated the 40,000 Jhau tree planting program under the Sufal project initiated by the Forest Department at Char Bijoye, which has emerged on the shores of the Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata in Patuakhali on Sunday. , 8,000 Jhau saplings were planted in the first phase.
Mahipur Range Officer AKM Moniruzzaman, Gangamati and Ecopark Beat Officer Abdur Razzak and other forest department officials were present at the time.
The trees planted earlier in Char Bijoy, such as Jhau, Dhanshi, Sundari, Keora and a wide grass cover, are already visible. Forest department officials hope that if afforestation activities are continued continuously, Char Bijoy will one day become a natural forest and a sanctuary for migratory birds.
