
Workshop on Socio-Economic Dev of Forest Dependent Communities and Wildlife Habitat Conservation held in Rangamati

A workshop on socio-economic development of forest-dependent communities and conservation of wildlife habitats was held on Thursday morning at the Conference Room of Rangamati District Council, organized by Aranyak Foundation and Hill Flower
Agricultural expert Kajal Talukder, Chairman of Rangamati District Council, was present as the chief guest at the workshop.
The workshop was attended by Senior Forest Management Expert Asit Ranjan Pal, Biodiversity Conservation Expert Md. Bakhtiar Noor Siddiqui, Hill Flower NGO Executive Director Dr. Neel Kumar Tanchangya, representatives of government institutions, university representatives, local public representatives, NGO representatives and other supporting personnel for the project.
The project aims to conserve forests and biodiversity, alleviate socio-economic problems of local communities, implement potential environmental conservation measures, create alternative income generation opportunities and to reduce threats to forests and wildlife habitats in the project area through sustainable livelihood systems for local communities.
