Local locals have formed human chain to stop the dredging sand, transport and sale from the Daulatdia Padma river in Goalando upazila of Rajbari.

At that time, the angry mob cut the road to the sand -dramatic movement and tied the bamboo along the middle.

Hundreds of women and men participated in the human chain at Chhatar Member Para in Ferighat area of Daulatdia 1 on Thursday at around 8pm.

At the end of the human chain, the local people along with the people of the area said. Nahidur Rahman filed a written complaint at 2pm. Tensions have been prevailing in the area since the incident.

According to the complaint, hundreds of families in Sattar Member Para, adjacent to Ferighat, on the banks of the Padma river, are at risk of erosion. To maintain the navigability of the ghats, the BIWTA authorities have dug with dredger machine here and built a large area of sand next to the village. The sand lifted has been illegally selling hundreds of drum trucks with several vacuo machines for some time. The locals are Mosharraf Hossain alias Musa Mondal, Belayet Hossain, Sohail Mondal and some other BNP party leaders.

The drum trucks have been cut off the river to climb up the river and build a long road. Due to this, the Geo bags for protecting the village have been removed during the monsoon season. Moreover, due to constant drum truck movement, it is difficult to breathe naturally to the people of the area. At the moment, the sand is becoming dirty. The accident is also feared.

Regarding the allegations, Musharraf Hossain alias Musa Mondal said, "None of us are raising sand illegally." Where the dredging sand was dumped, they have about 5 bighas of land. Others are less or less. Moreover, the sand administration has sold it with tender. As per the tender rules, I have been allotted a portion as the owner of the land and bought some other areas from SM Molla Traders. I am picking up the sand and selling it in different places. Moreover, the complainant Shaheed Pal and Gafur Pal have paid Tk. They are demanding more money. Today, some people have made human bonds with people to not obey.

In this regard, Gafur Pal and Shaheed Pal said, "We have made human bonds in the public interest." There was no money from them to the sand. However, I bought several sand. There are transactions.

Goalando UNO Md. Nahidur Rahman said, I received written complaint. Investigation will be taken by legal action. I urge both sides to make any chaos. However, he advised to speak at the senior level without saying anything about the sand tender.
