
Stolen van recovered, 3 arrested in Louhjang

Stolen covered van was recovered and three were arrested while fleeing with a covered van loaded with 2700 kg of garment yarn stolen from Fatulla, Narayanganj on Thursday.
It crashed into a tree in Haldia area of Louhjang upazila in Munshiganj district and was caught by locals. On receiving the information, Louhjang police arrested 3 people along with the covered van.
On Thursday at around 6 am, a covered van lost control on the road in Haldia area of Louhjang and crashed into a banyan tree.
During this, the electric meter was damaged. Angered by this, the locals seized the vehicle and informed the police. The arrested are Abdur Rahman, Md. Monir Gazi and Akash Sheikh. Quoting Fatullah police, the OC of Louhajang police station said that on Wednesday night, the driver came to Fatullah area from Sreepur in Gazipur with a covered van loaded with 2,700 kg of yarn. At that time, when he went home to rest, the gang stole the covered van and set off. On the way, they met with an accident in Louhajang and were caught.
OC of Louhajang police station Md. Harun Or Rashid said, during interrogation, the arrested persons confessed to stealing the covered van from Fatullah area of Narayanganj.
