Payra Bandar (Patuakhali) Correspondent
Lawyers in Patuakhali's Kalapara are continuing their court boycott for the second consecutive day, protesting allegations of bribery, corruption, and irregularities against Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashish Roy.
Since Thursday morning, no lawyers have been present in court, disrupting judicial proceedings and causing immense suffering to litigants.
Confirming the matter, Hafizur Rahman Chunnu, a senior lawyer of the upazila and a member of the District Bar Association, said, "The lawyers' stance against the magistrate's irregularities and corruption is clear. The boycott will continue until he is removed."
The decision to boycott the court was made at an emergency meeting held on Wednesday morning at the Chowki Court Lawyers' Building.
The lawyers have warned of tougher programs if Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashish Roy is not removed from his post.
