Rangpur Highway Police organizes meeting on traffic management

A meeting on traffic management on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at the Region Headquarters of the city on Wednesday under the initiative of Highway Police Rangpur Region.
The meeting, chaired by Highway Police Rangpur Region Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tariqul Islam, discussed in detail the proper traffic management of long-distance and inter-district buses plying in Rangpur division during the current month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, and maintaining orderly and safe highways.
At this time, the concerned transport managers, drivers and officials were called upon to drive vehicles in accordance with the traffic law during Eid. In addition, it was called upon to control the speed of vehicles to prevent fatal accidents and to use 2 core drivers in the case of long-distance vehicles. Along with this, line managers were requested not to collect additional fares during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. In addition, to prevent robberies and crimes on the highway, passengers were requested not to get on and off anywhere, to inform the police about suspicious passengers, and to cooperate with the Highway Police during video recording and checking of passengers.
It was informed in the meeting that on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the Highway Police Rangpur Region has already strengthened security measures on the highway for smooth traffic management of long-distance and inter-district buses plying in the Rangpur division.
