No-2 ward election of BNP municipal branch was held peacefully in Morelganj of Bagerhat.

Md. Masum Fakir was elected as President and BM Tariqul Islam Manik was elected as General Secretary.

This election was held on Friday (January 3) from 9 am to 1 pm at Abdul Aziz Memorial Secondary School of the upazila. In the election, a total of 100 voters of Morelganj municipal branch of BNP Ward No. 2 stood in line for a long time and voted.

There is great enthusiasm among the activists around this election. A total of 91 votes were cast in the election. In this, Md. Masum Fakir was elected as the president of Ward No. 2 Committee of Morelganj Municipal Branch BNP by getting 49 votes. His nearest rival Md Salim Mollah got 41 votes.

Also, BM Tariqul Islam Manik was elected as general secretary candidate by getting 70 votes. His nearest rival Rafiqul Islam Mithu got 21 votes.

In this election, Dr. won the post of organizational secretary unopposed. Ramiz Uddin Sheikh.
