Nurjahan's dream to earn lakhs of taka by cutting crosses

Three years ago, he bought yarn for her son's Eid Salami with Tk 4,000 and started handwork. After that, although there was not much response, this woman entrepreneur is now dreaming of earning 20 to 30 thousand taka per month.

After starting the work of cutting the cross, this woman entrepreneur learned the work by calling the local women from their homes, and now she is making them do order work. Woman entrepreneur Nurjahan Begum first learned the craft of cross-cutting from her mother. After that, she used to make various types of yarn products for his own use on a small scale. After receiving a good response through various channels, he started this business commercially by buying yarn with 4000 taka from his son's Eid salami. After that for the first two years he was running his Kurshikata business with a small profit of his own.

Next year get 22 thousand rupees from private organizations. Later started business with 30 thousand taka . This woman entrepreneur has earned about lakhs of taka in three years. Now she is selling all these products not only in his own area but also in different districts through online. This woman entrepreneur Nurjahan Begum said, because the demand is high, she trained the women of her area for free. Now around 10 to 12 women of that area are working under her supervision. After learning to work, a woman named Koli also does order work. She can manage his own expenses besides studies.

Koli Khatun said, Nurjahan Begum has been working as a needlework for a long time. One day I came here and saw him working. Later, she became interested in learning this work from there. Later I also learned to work. Not only me but many other women in my area have learned to work here for free. Now, besides studying, I am able to support myself by doing this work.

Another housewife, Monira Khatun, said that we did not know the work of knitting before, after learning the work from Nurjahan Apar, now we are able to earn the family's income. Clarity has now come in the marital way as well.

Nurjahan Begum, a female entrepreneur, said, Cross stitch work is done with yarn. I have 15/20 products including dining table sets, cushion covers, mosquito net covers, kids hats, shoes, collars, bags, shawls. Also, we work the way the customers want. Now we are selling in various districts through online outside the area.

She said, I have earned about lakhs of taka in three years. Now if I can sell more then I will earn about 20 to 30 thousand taka per month. With which I have brought clarity to my world. I myself have taught 10/12 women in this area. Now they are also very independent.

Ramna Model Union Parishad Chairman Golam Ashek Aka said that Nurjahan Begum has been working as a needlework for a long time. She is a woman entrepreneur. He is living an inhumane life as there is no proper process to market his handicrafts. I am supporting as much as possible from the Union Parishad. Before that, I also went to the Deputy Commissioner to work with him. At that time she assured the support of the government. I hope the upazila administration will support all these women entrepreneurs.

Chilmari UNO Sabuj Kumar Basak said, I am always with those who are entrepreneurs and those who do good work.
