Aligning with the government's vision of establishing a cashless transaction system, a view-exchange meeting with local traders was held in Faridpur to promote bKash’s "Bangla QR" for digital payment services and business expansion.
The meeting took place on Sunday at 5:00 PM at Nura Cafe in the Jhilortuli area of Faridpur town.
Md. Golam Maruf, proprietor of E.R. Corporation—the Faridpur district distributor of bKash—delivered the welcome address at the event.
Other speakers included Tanvir Sharif Khan, Zonal Manager of bKash's Barishal Region; Mosaddar Ali Mithu, Area Manager for the Faridpur region; Sheikh Sabbir Parvez, Territory Manager; and Md. Russell Biswas, Faridpur bKash Merchant Operation Manager.
Speakers noted that bKash has been actively working from the outset to support the government's landmark steps toward a cashless economy. They explained that "Bangla QR" allows merchants to securely accept payments from various digital platforms using a single universal QR code, reducing the risks of carrying cash while making transactions faster, easier, and more transparent to accelerate business growth.
Highlighting additional merchant facilities, speakers shared that bKash has introduced special loan services to help merchants expand their businesses. Furthermore, payment speakers are being provided to merchants for instant audio confirmation of every successful transaction, ensuring greater reliability.
They emphasized that while merchants previously needed separate QR codes for different mobile financial services, Bangla QR consolidates them into one. This saves time, enhances transparency, and reduces cash-handling risks.
Urging local traders to adopt digital payment systems, the speakers expressed optimism that Bangla QR will play a vital role in building a smart economy and boosting local trade.
