On the occasion of the Victory Day, the District Administration of Barishal organized various events on Monday .

At sunrise, the Divisional and District Administration of Barishal led the delegation to lay wreaths at the Martyr Freedom Fighter Memorial Plaque adjacent to the Deputy Commissioner's office. At this time, various government departments including the Divisional Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner laid wreaths. Later, after a march towards the Trish Godown Slaughterhouse Memorial Monument adjacent to the Kirtankhola River, various government and non-government organizations including the Divisional Administration and District Administration of Barisal laid wreaths there.

From there, wreaths were laid at the tomb of martyr ADC Kazi Azizul Islam and prayers were offered for the eternal peace of his soul. At 9 am, the national flag was officially hoisted by Divisional Commissioner Md. Raihan Kawsar at Bells Park in the city. Later, after a brief discussion there, the chief guest Divisional Commissioner and other guests inaugurated the Victory Fair on the occasion of the great Victory Day by releasing a balloon festoon. Later, at 12 noon, a reception ceremony for the nation's best sons and brave freedom fighters was held at the District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium organized by the district administration.

Divisional Commissioner Barisal Md. Raihan Kawsar was the chief guest at the event. Deputy Commissioner, Barisal Mohammad Delwar Hossain presided over the event. DIG Barisal Range Barisal Md. Manjur Morshed Alam was the special guest, Police Commissioner Barishal Metropolitan Police Md. Shafiqul Islam, Police Superintendent Barisal Md. Belayet Hossain, freedom fighters Nurul Alam Farid and Obaidul Haque Chan and other guests were present. More than a hundred freedom fighters were felicitated there. Floral wishes and financial assistance were given to the freedom fighters. Besides, after Zuhr, prayers were organized at the Collectorate Jame Mosque seeking forgiveness for the souls of all the martyrs.
