A Z Al Mujahid, Kishorganj

A new full committee of Kishoreganj Central Press Club, a new organization composed of professional journalists, has been formed under the slogan of 'united in revealing the truth' to protect the rights and welfare of district and grassroots journalists.

Ashraful Islam and Al Amin have been elected as President and General Secretary respectively.

The two-year committee was formed at a special meeting held at the Kishoreganj News Auditorium on the 7th floor of Hotel Sheraton in the district town on Saturday (December 14) evening at the call of the organization's Election Commission.

A 21-member full committee of Kishoreganj Central Press Club has been formed with Ashraful Islam, Staff Reporter (Kishoreganj) of Daily Manabzamin, as President and Md. Al Amin, District Correspondent of Daily Nayadiganta, as General Secretary.

It was presided over by social activist Abdur Rahman Rumi, Chief Election Commissioner of the organization's Election Commission. The other two members of the three-member election commission are Dental Surgeon Dr. Faruk Ahmed and head of the English Department of Ishakhan University Md. Badrul Huda Sohel, jointly moderated the meeting and formed the full committee of the organization through voice vote.

Those elected to other positions in the committee are - Senior Vice President Shafiq Adnan (Kaler Kantho/ATN News), Vice President Ali Reza Sumon (Dainik Swadesh Pratidin), Joint General Secretary Sajan Ahmed Papon (Ajaker Patrika), Finance Secretary Ata Mohammad Ubayed (Ajaker Business Bangladesh), Office Secretary Md. Jahangir Shah Badshah (Inqilab), Organizing Secretary Rakibul Hasan Rokel (Dainik Bangla/Nagorik Television), Journalist Welfare Secretary Taslima Akhter Mitu (Khaborer Kagoj), Sports and Cultural Secretary Tanmoy Alamgir (Ganajagran), Publicity and Publication Secretary Md. Mobarak Hossain (Somayer Kagoj), Development Editor Mohammad Abu Sayeed (Notun Din), Literature Editor Mu, Wazed Ali (Lnews), Information and Technology Editor Md. Saifullah Saif (Nagorik Bhabna), Training Editor Md. Anwar Hossain (Desh Kantho) and Public Relations Editor Md. Sakhawat Hossain Akash (BD24Live).

In addition, the executive members of the committee are Abdur Rahman Rumi (lifetime member), Md. Badrul Huda Sohel (associate member), Tafsilul Aziz (Prothom Alo), Md. Anwarul Kibria (Banglabazar Patrika) and Shahiduzzaman Shuvo (video journalist, Nagorik Television) and other journalist members of the organization were present at the meeting.
