Fire tamed at Korail slum, no casualties reported

About seven units of the fire brigade contained a major fire in the capital’s Korail slum at 5.12pm Wednesday, after about an hour of efforts, said fire service control room official Rakibul Hasan.
As of 6pm, casualties and damages were yet to be reported.
The fire erupted at around 4.15pm. Five firefighting units started the dousing operations, but two more were caught up in traffic and had to join the fight later. The firefighters found it difficult to penetrate the densely populated area due to narrow lanes.
