Govt to establish July Mass Uprising Directorate

The government has decided to establish the July Mass Uprising Directorate under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to rehabilitate those killed during the recent student-led anti-government movement.
In addition to rehabilitation, the directorate will work to preserve the history and memories of the July Mass Uprising and to promote its ideals and spirit at both the state and national levels, reports a press release.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs took the decision during its inter-ministerial meeting held on Wednesday with its Adviser Farooq-E-Azam in the chair.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’s sub-committee on health affairs has recently claimed that a total of 1,581 people lost their lives during the student-led July-August mass uprising across the country.
