Dead dolphins of endangered species recovered from Halda river again

A small dead dolphin has again been found dead in the Halda river, a natural fish breeding ground. The dead dolphin was rescued from the river by Rauzan Fisheries Officer with the help of local people on Wednesday .
Earlier, 35 dead dolphins floated in this river. It is said that the dead dolphin got stuck here from somewhere in the tidal water.
The small-sized 'dolphin weighs about 4 kg and is 4 feet 9 inches long. Raujan Upazila Fisheries Extension Officer Mohammad Alamgir Hossain Azadi confirmed the truth of the incident. He also said that due to the manpower crisis, many times we have to face problems in quick operations in the Halda river.
Rauzan Upazila Fisheries Extension Officer, since September 2017, a total of 40 dolphins have died in Halda and its branch canals. All but two of the dolphins were found to have injuries by rescue authorities. Several dolphins were also killed.
