UNO distributes relief to over 200 families stranded in waterlogged areas in Dohar

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Municipal Administrator Md. Maidul Islam has distributed relief materials to more than two hundred families in Narisha, Nayabari, Raipara and the municipality who were waterlogged due to the heavy rains in Dohar for the past 4 days.
Dried food and other items were distributed to more than two hundred water-trapped people in Narisha, Nayabari, Raipara and the municipal council of the upazila from the morning of Monday throughout the day.
Present at the event were Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tasfiq Sibgat Ullah, Raipara Union Parishad Administrator Abdus Sattar, Upazila Project Implementation Officers Md. Qutubuddin, Abdus Salam, Municipality Chief Engineer Mamunur Rashid, Deputy Assistant Engineer Md. Abdus Salam, Narisha UP Administrator and Public Health Officer Md. Mehedi Hasan, Upazila Health and Planning Officer Md. Rakibul Hasan and others.
In addition, a grant of Tk 25,000 was provided to two families separately in the case of a mason from Ward 8 of Raipara Union Parishad who died of a snake bite and a 5-year-old child Adnan who drowned in a pond.
UNO Md. Maidul Islam said that at least 10 villages in the upazila, including Narisha, Nayabari, Raipara and the municipality, have been waterlogged due to heavy rainfall.
More than two hundred helpless people in these areas were provided with emergency relief items such as dried food, rice, pulses and other necessary medical supplies. A total of 9 shelters have been prepared in each union to ensure the safety of the people. There is a round-the-clock monitoring team in the upazila to monitor the situation.
