The Bangladesh Coast Guard is continuing its emergency relief operations to support vulnerable families hit by severe waterlogging and flash floods across remote coastal areas.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, the Media Officer of the Bangladesh Coast Guard Headquarters said this in a press release on Monday morning.
The press release said that the Coast Guard's dedicated relief deployments have been actively distributing aid throughout the week to mitigate the impact of the ongoing adverse weather on marginalized coastal populations.
As part of this continuous humanitarian response, Coast Guard Base Chattogram carried out a targeted distribution drive on Sunday (July 12), in the North Jaldi area under Banshkhali Upazila of Chattogram. During the operation, emergency relief packages containing rice, lentils, and other essential daily commodities were handed over directly to 100 heavily affected families who were marooned by monsoon-induced waterlogging and facing acute shortages of daily necessities.
The media officer reiterated that the maritime law enforcement force remains deeply committed to safeguarding coastal lives and will continue to execute such humanitarian aid operations and public welfare initiatives alongside its core security duties until the situation stabilizes.
