A 9-year-old child named Abdullah was killed by his stepmother by twisting a veil around his neck. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot and arrested the killer woman. The incident happened on Saturday at night in Yusufpur Paschimpara area of Debidwar upazila.

The deceased Abdullah is the son of Amanullah of that village. The killer woman Liza Akhter is the second wife of Aman Ullah.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Debidwar police station Nayan Mia confirmed the matter. Quoting the locals, the OC initially said that the father of the deceased child, Aman Ullah, works in a company in Meghna, Comilla. Three years ago, Abdullah's own mother left Barisal in the hands of a foreign lover. Later Abdullah's father remarried. Quoting the neighbors, he also said that the stepmother accepted Abdullah at first but neglected and neglected Abdullah since another child was born in her arms.

At times to torture physically. There was often trouble between Abdullah's father and stepmother. At around 11 o'clock on Saturday, he came from the field and asked his stepmother for pain medicine and water. Later, when mother Liza brought Akta water, Abdullah took the medicine and threw some water from the glass on his younger brother's body (stepmother's son). Enraged by this, the stepmother Liza Akhter wrapped her veil around the neck of the baby Abdullah. Abdullah died on the spot due to suffocation.

Liza tries to escape after seeing the situation. When the neighbors arrested him and informed the police station, the police went to the spot and recovered the body, arrested the killer's mother Liza Akhter and brought her to the police station. Debidwar police station OC Nayan Mia also said that the body of the deceased has been sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The marks of twisting the veil are clearly visible on the child's neck. The killer has been arrested. In this case, the matter of the case is under process.
