A protest march was held at Rajshahi University (RU) on Saturday evening to condemn an alleged attack by Indian nationals at the Chowka border in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj. Organized under the banner of "Anti-Aggression Students and People," the march began at Amtala near the university’s transport market and ended at the Shaheed Buddhijibi Smritifalak (Martyred Intellectuals Monument) with a brief rally.
Speakers at the rally, including Shakil Hossain, President of the Revolutionary Students’ Union; Rakib Hossain, President of a faction of the Student Union; and Mehedi Hasan Maruf, Convener of the Students' Rights Council, strongly condemned the incident and criticized the government’s inaction.
They alleged that the attack was backed by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and demanded justice for all border killings over the past five decades. They further called for the resignation of the Home Advisor if justice is not ensured.
Later in the evening, another protest march, organized by "Ganobhyutthan Mancha" (Mass Uprising Platform), began at the Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Chattar. Protesters reiterated their demand for accountability and justice for all border-related violence.
