The full executive committee of the Leo Club of Comilla University (CoU), a youth wing of the international service organization Lions Club, has been announced.

A 30-member's committee has been formed, with Md. Tarikul Islam Moin from the Department of Accounting and Information Systems (2019-20 session) as the President and Md. Hasibul Hossain from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (2019-20 session) as the General Secretary.

This information was revealed in a notice issued on Friday signed by the Leo Club Election Commissioner and Coordinator Lion Md. Kawsar.

I am embarking on a new journey as the General Secretary of the Leo Club of Comilla University. I am fully prepared to work diligently in fulfilling this prestigious role. My primary goal is to work with club members to conduct service activities, bring positive changes to society, and guide the youth toward progress. I am confident that, with everyone’s cooperation, we can successfully achieve our objectives.” President Leo Md. Tarikul Islam Moin added, “The Leo Club of Comilla University was established on July 15, 2020. I am a founding member and served as the Membership Development Coordinator of the first Chartered Board of Directors.

From the beginning, this club has been close to my heart because, unlike most clubs that focus solely on skill development, the Leo Club also conducts impactful service activities for society and the environment. Activities such as tree plantation, diabetes checkups, eye exams, campus cleaning, and distributing food, blankets, and educational materials to underprivileged individuals offer a sense of fulfillment that no amount of skill development can match.

Additionally, there’s the benefit of international recognition.” He further stated, “My aim to work with my Leo members to make the Leo Club of Comilla University more dynamic and impactful through social service and innovative activities.”
