Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Motihar Thana Police arrested three criminals on the charge of robbing an auto rickshaw. At that time, the police recovered the stolen auto-rickshaw from the accused.

Through a RMP press release on Wednesday morning, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media) Sabina Yeasmin said that Md Rabiul Islam of Bagdanga Paschimpara of Sapahar Police Station in Naogaon District is an auto rickshaw driver. On October 6, 2024 in the evening, he left for Motihar police station Kharkhari with three passengers in his auto rickshaw from Sahib Bazar Zero Point under in Rajshahi city.

When they reached near the 6th gate of Rajshahi University after work in Kharkhari, the accused who were passengers hit from behind auto rickshaw driver Rabiul. Then they tied Rabiul to a nearby tree and stole the auto rickshaw.

A case was registered in Motihar police station in view of Rabiul's complaint. A team of Motihar Thana Police under the general direction of RMP Motihar Crime Division Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Mominul Karim started an operation to arrest the accused.

Later, SI ATM of Motihar Police Station Ashekul Islam and his team conducted an operation on the basis of secret information at 1:15 AM on October 7, 2024 AD and arrested the accused Shariful Islam from Danshmari Purbapara Corridor intersection of Motihar Police Station. According to the information given by him, the accused Naziur Rahman was arrested at 1:30 am and the other accused Tariqul at 2:30 am from their house.

The arrested accuseds are Md Shariful Islam (26), Md Naziur Rahman Mridul (26) and Md Tariful Islam Yamin (24). Shariful is the son of Md. Rafiqul Islam of Motihar police station in Rajshahi metropolis, Najiur Rahman is the son of Munsur Rahman of the same area and the other accused Tariqul Islam is the son of Md. Zainal.

During interrogation, the accused admitted their involvement in the incident and according to the information given by them, the stolen auto-rickshaw was recovered from an under-construction building next to the house of accused Naziur Rahman. The accused are organized robbers. They have been sent to jail by the court.
