On Thursday morning, a peace rally came out from Hospital Road of the upazila and went around the main main road of the upazila Sadar and came to the public library auditorium and met for discussion.

The speakers said that this day is celebrated in memory of Sepoy Janata Revolution which took place on November 7, 1975. BNP will observe 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day' in commemoration of 1975 'Soldier-Janata Coup'. On this historic day amid political turmoil, soldiers and people together freed the then army chief Ziaur Rahman from captivity which paved the way for his subsequent rise to power. We are the soldiers of that Zia. Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP will work to make the country prosperous again.
It should be noted that on this day in 1975, the course of the country's politics at that time was changed in the historical revolution of the sepoys. The country and nation got a new direction.
Following the assassination of 15 August 1975 and the killing of four national leaders in Dhaka Central Jail on 3 November, the then Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Brigadier General Khaled Musharraf, along with his followers, imprisoned Major General Ziaur Rahman in Dhaka Cantonment through a coup and announced himself as the army chief, Khaled went to Bangabhaban on November 6 and arrested the then president Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed and announced the dissolution of the cabinet and the dissolution of the national parliament. Chief Justice Abu Sadat appointed Mohammad Sayem as the President of the country. That same night, the common sepoys of the army united and formed resistance.
People from all walks of life took to the streets in spontaneous support of that coup. Ziaur Rahman was freed from the condition of imprisonment in the revolution of soldiers and people. Khaled Musharraf lost his life along with some of his followers in the morning of November 7 while trying to prevent a counter-coup. An unprecedented example of solidarity was created in the country's politics. Zia came to the center of power.
According to political analysts, after this change, the country's independence and sovereignty became stronger under the leadership of Ziaur Rahman. Democracy moves forward on the path of progress without hindrance, from this day the journey of multi-party democracy begins.
Since then, November 7 is being celebrated as 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day'. During the BNP government, this day was a public holiday. However, BNP could not celebrate the day comfortably for more than a decade and a half during the rule of Awami League.
