Prof Dr. Golam Rabbani appointed first Pro-VC at Barishal University

Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani, a faculty member of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research at Dhaka University, has been appointed as the first Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Barishal.
The Ministry of Education issued a notification on Wednesday, October 30, signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Shahinur Islam, confirming the appointment.
The notice states that with the approval of the Honorable President and Chancellor, Dr. Golam Rabbani has been appointed as Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Barishal under Section 11(1) of the Barishal University Act, 2006.
According to the notification, Dr. Rabbani’s tenure as Pro-Vice Chancellor will last for four years from the date of his joining. He will receive the same salary and benefits as his current position, along with additional entitlements as per university regulations. He is required to reside on campus full-time and will exercise the powers and responsibilities designated by the university statutes and the Vice Chancellor.
The notification further mentioned that the President and Chancellor reserve the right to cancel this appointment at any time if deemed necessary.
