Progress of 98 research projects reviewed at DU : Emphasis on conducting international quality research

A view-sharing meeting was held yesterday, Sunday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium with the project directors and co-project directors of 98 research projects of Dhaka University funded by the Bangladesh University Grants Commission.
The exchange of views was held under the chairmanship of Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam, with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam, as the chief guest, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani, as the special guest. Deans of various faculties and project directors and co-project directors of 98 research projects were present in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the projects and discussed various limitations and problem-solving issues in project implementation.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam called upon teachers and researchers to conduct international standard research and said that it is not possible to move the university forward without quality research and innovation. He said that researchers should pay attention to publishing research articles in Q-1 and Q-2 journals.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam emphasized on conducting education and innovative research activities according to the needs of the society.
It was informed in the meeting that an initiative has been taken to organize the "Dhaka University Innovation and Impact Summit" at Dhaka University in February to establish industry-academia relations and strengthen publication, research and innovation activities.
