PKSF Chairman says : Politics easy, bureaucracy difficult: Zakir Ahmed Khan

Pirojpur Sadar Correspondent

PKSF Chairman and former Finance Secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan said, working in bureaucracy is a very difficult thing. Politics is easy but bureaucracy is difficult. A lot of thinking is required here. Government officials do not want to be suspended; they want promotion, they want to do jobs and they do not want to get bad postings.

Zakir Ahmed Khan said, I was never an acting secretary, I was a direct secretary. I am working with the Awami League government, the BNP government and the caretaker government.

Many people used to tell me how this man is working with everyone. The way Sheikh Hasina knew me; Khaleda Zia also knew me. Saifur Rahman loved me and Shah MS Kibria loved me.

Zakir Ahmed Khan advised journalists to highlight the bad condition of Pirojpur roads in the newspapers. He suggested that the plight of the district be highlighted in the newspaper, saying that the people of the area want to know about these things.

He said this at a meeting with journalists at the Press Club on Saturday (December 21) night.

Pirojpur Press Club President and Amar Desh Representative Advocate SM Rezaul Islam Shamim presided over the meeting.

Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ICT) Mohammad Selim Hossain also spoke. Pirojpur Press Club former president and Ittefaq staff reporter Muniruzzaman Nasim, former president Gautam Narayan Roy Chowdhury, former president of the Press Club Principal Alamgir Hossain, former president MA Rabbani Firoz, former general secretaries of the Press Club Fasiul Islam Bachchu and Arif Mostafa were present.

The meeting was moderated by Pirojpur Press Club General Secretary, Jamuna TV and Bangladesh Pratidin Pirojpur District Representative SM Tanvir Ahmed.

It is worth mentioning that former Finance Secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan's home is in Kalakhali Union of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila. He served as the Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank's Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka Region. He also served as the Secretary of the Internal Resources Department and the Chairman of NBR.
