Outgoing Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahinur Akhter of Kotalipara, Gopalganj will join his new workplace from Kotalipara Upazila on December 25.

Before joining, he held an open discussion meeting with the journalists working in the upazila in the hall room of the upazila Parishad.

UNO Shahinur Akhter joined as the Kotalipara UNO seven months ago. He has brought journalists and the people as close as possible with the cooperation of only seven months of activities.

In this regard, on Thursday afternoon, in an open discussion meeting with journalists at the Upazila Shapla Chattar Hall Room, various leaders of journalist organizations, including the Executive Officer, discussed the good and bad aspects of the upazila.

UNO Shahinur Akhter said that only seven months seem like a long year. And the memories of these days will be remembered for a lifetime in my working life. I am grateful for the cooperation I have received from journalists and people from all walks of life in my seven months of work.

However, I am saddened that the education and economic status of Kotalipara Upazila is very low. I would like to request journalists to keep the time spent in educational institutions for development in this regard effective.

If the educational institutions and the families of the students are kept in check, it will be possible to maintain it. And there are two markets side by side in Kotalipara Municipality. One is Ghaghar Market and the other is Municipal Kitchen Market. We have worked on various initiatives to convert the two markets into one market and to protect the market from fire.

There are about four lakh people in Kotalipara. But 50 thousand people do not go to the market but go to the city for shopping. Where city-oriented goods are available in this market, but due to traffic congestion and various problems, the economic condition of the two markets is at a low level.

All kinds of work is underway for the economic development of the market and the people. We have worked with your information and cooperation to increase the education, fundamental rights, economic development and revenue sector income of the people of Kotalipara Upazila. Still, there is a lot of work left and these can be done with your efforts.

In addition, after the Executive Officer had an open discussion with journalists on various issues of Kotalipara, journalists from various journalist organizations in the upazila agreed with the Executive Officer. And they spoke openly about various good and bad issues of Kotalipara Upazila and the journalists ended by pledging to dedicate themselves to the public interest.

In this open discussion meeting, Kotalipara Upazila Press Club President Mahabub Sultan, Kotalipara Press Club President Mehedi Hasnat, Reporters Club President Md. Mohiuddin Molla, Saha Gaurang Das, Roni Ahmed, Kazi Palash, Moniruzzaman Jewel, Sameer Roy, Md. Shah Alam, Fajr Ali Sikder, Kamrul Islam Rana, Pankaj Biswas, Nabil and Selim Sheikh were present.
