Pedestrian killed in bus accident in Srinagar

A 55-year-old pedestrian was killed after being run over by a passenger bus in the Puratan Ferry Ghat area of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Srinagar. The incident occurred at 1:45 pm on Wednesday.
The identity of the deceased man has not yet been determined. Eyewitnesses reported that a long-distance bus hit him while he was crossing the road and then fled the scene. The man died on the spot. It is suspected that he may have been mentally unstable.
Upon receiving the news, fire service personnel arrived and recovered the body.
Srinagar Fire Service Station Officer Dewan Azad Hossain stated that the body was handed over to the highway police. Around 4 PM, Hasara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Kader Jilani confirmed that the unidentified body was in their custody and that efforts were being made to ascertain his identity.
