“Sheikh Bari” in Khulna vandalised, set on fire

The house of Sheikh Naser, Sheikh Hasina's uncle, locally known as “Sheikh Bari” on Sher-e-Bangla Road in Khulna, was attacked, vandalised, and set on fire on Wednesday night.
Around 9 pm, angry protesters used two bulldozers to demolish the main gate and boundary wall of the house.
At the time, the crowd started chanting slogans: “Sheikh Barir astana bhenge dao guriye dao, shoiracharer's astana jaliye dao, puriye dao.”
Until the fall of the AL government on August 5, Sheikh Naser's son, former MP from Bagerhat-1 constituency Sheikh Helal, and Sheikh Helal's son, former MP from Bagerhat-2 constituency Sheikh Tanmoy, along with Sheikh Helal's brother, former MP from Khulna-2 constituency Sheikh Jewel, resided in this house.
