Next election should be on proportional basis: Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman

Abubakor Siddique, Koyra (Khulna)

Jamaat central Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the next election should be held on a proportional basis.

The party that gets the percentage of votes will have that percentage of representation in the parliament. In this way, if any party gets one percent of the votes, if they are eligible, they will also go and represent them in the parliament. There will be no more fear of the country and votes being held hostage by any specific party. That is why we want that election to be held on a proportional basis.

Calling on the current interim government to take initiatives to resolve the main problem of Koyra, the dam crisis, the Jamaat Ameer said, you should start working. If Jamaat gets the opportunity to serve the country, it will not have to make any more demands, but will try to find out the problems of the people and solve them. He sought the united cooperation of everyone to build a society that the youth of this country dreamed of free from discrimination. The 2018 election in Bangladesh was a night-time election.

The 2024 election was a dummy election. The judiciary was destroyed, the elections were destroyed, and in addition to destroying the ACC, the education system was damaged the most by appointing goons. There was no environment for education in the country. There was no guarantee of the dignity of girls. For all these reasons, the student population was in turmoil. Extortionists and usurpers will never exist in Bangladesh again. As a result of the student population's agitation, Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee and take refuge in India. Our children could not vote three times, the current government must make arrangements so that they can vote. The votes of expatriates must be ensured. He said this as the chief guest at the Jamaat workers' rally at Koyra Upazila Jamaat's Kopotaksh College Ground in Koyra at 2 pm on Thursday.

At that time, he also said that Sheikh Hasina and her sister Rehana stole 26 lakh crore taka from Bangladesh and took it abroad. Delwar Hussain Sayeedi was a lifeline of Bangladesh above party lines. He was murdered in a premeditated manner. Although it is said that Bangladesh should be a role model for development, no role model can be found. Fortunately, Tulip Siddiqui, the minister of England, stole 57 thousand crore taka from the Rooppur nuclear power plant. The banks are all empty, the finance sector is destroyed, and the insurance companies have been razed to the ground. The previous fascist government is the enemy of the nation, the enemy, and the thief. They have stolen everything from Bangladesh and fled. They must be tried on the soil of Bengal.

Central Jamaat Secretary General and former MP Prof Mia Golam Parwar delivered the special guest speech at the rally chaired by Koyra Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Mizanur Rahman and conducted by Khulna District Assistant Secretary Adv. Mostafizur Rahman.

Other speakers included central organizing secretary and Khulna region director Muhaddis Abdul Khalek, former member of parliament Principal Shah Muhammad Ruhul Quddus, central working committee member and Khulna region assistant director Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Khulna district Ameer Maulana Emran Hussain, Jamaat leader Maulana Golam Sarwar, Kabirul Islam, Munshi Mizanur Rahman, Munshi Mainul Islam, professor Mia Golam Quddus, Gausul Azam Hadi, Krishna Nandi, Koyra Jamaat leader Maulana Rafiqul Islam and Maulana Shujauddin.
