
Six traders fined for selling expired medicines in Kalapara

he Consumer Rights Protection Department has fined six traders in Banati Bazar of Baliatoli Union of the upazila and Fisari area of Kalapara municipality Tk 32,000 for selling expired medicines and not mentioning the expiry date on the packaging of the products in Kalapara, Patuakhali.
The drive was conducted on Saturday afternoon by Shah Mohammad Swaib Mia, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, Patuakhali District. Kalapara Upazila Sanitary Officer Mrinal Chandra Debnath was with him at the time.
The traders who were fined are Md. Rubel Hawlader 15 thousand taka, Payra Bakeri 5 thousand taka, Md. Saidul Islam 3 thousand 5'00 taka, Md. Asad 3 thousand taka, Md. Ansar 2 thousand 5'00 taka and Mehedi Hasan 3 thousand taka. Most of them are said to be medicine traders from Banati Bazar.
