A massive motorcycle rally was held in Chandina municipality on Monday in support of mayoral candidate Naimul Haque Bhuiyan ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.
A festive mood prevailed across the town as a motorcade of over 100 motorcycles, carrying local leaders, activists, and supporters, paraded through key thoroughfares.
The procession set off around 11:00am from Bhuiyan's residence in the Chandiyara area. Navigating all nine wards of the municipality, participants waved banners and festoons bearing party and national symbols while chanting slogans in favor of the candidate.
Rally organizers said the campaign event aimed to bolster public support and signal an intensified door-to-door voter outreach campaign across all wards in the coming days.
Addressing residents following the procession, Bhuiyan pledged to transform Chandina into a modern, clean, and citizen-friendly municipality if elected.
"Ensuring basic civic amenities for residents will be my top priority," Bhuiyan said, promising road repairs, modern drainage systems, safe drinking water supply, regular waste collection, and streetlighting. He also committed to making the municipality drug-free, creating local employment for youth, and ensuring transparency in municipal administration.
Political activity has picked up momentum across Chandina as prospective candidates step up public engagement and street campaigns ahead of the municipal polls.
