Agreement should not be canceled, but govt should come forward for its full implementation: Shishir Chakma

The Hill Peace Agreement was made in the light of the Bangladesh Constitution. There is no unconstitutional issue in this agreement. Therefore, the agreement should not be canceled, but the government should come forward for its full implementation, said Zoom Aesthetic Council President Shishir Chakma.
He said this as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by the International Indigenous Peoples' Celebration Committee, Rangamati branch, on the occasion of International Indigenous Peoples' Day at the Rangamati Municipality premises on Sunday morning.
The program was chaired by Sri Prakriti Ranjan Chakma, President and former Deputy Secretary of Bangladesh Indigenous Forum, Chittagong Hill Tracts Region, and Advocate Chanchu Chakma, member of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council, was also present at the time.
Among others present at the event were Phadang Tang Randal, member of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council, Thoai Aung Marma, vice-president of the CHT Headman Network, Deb Prasad Dewan, member of the Rangamati Hill District Council, and Adv Jewel Dewan, a prominent lawyer from Rangamati George Cote.
