Martyr Intellectuals' Day observed with due dignity at DU

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has called on people of all classes and professions to fulfill their respective responsibilities with utmost sincerity to repay the blood debt of the martyrs, saying that this can be the minimum way to repay the blood debt of the martyrs.
He said this in his speech as the president at a discussion meeting organized at the Student-Teacher Center Auditorium on the occasion of Martyr Intellectuals Day on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Law of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Azharul Islam Sheikh, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Shaheed Gias Uddin Ahmed's younger sister Professor Sajeda Banu, Dhaka University Alumni Association Convener Shamsuzzaman Dudu, leaders of the Freedom Fighters Institutional Unit Command, Dhaka University Officers Association, Third Class Employees Association, Technical Employees Association, Fourth Class Employees Union and Dhaka University Shaheed Family Welfare Association delivered speeches. Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed conducted the program. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said that Martyrs' Intellectuals' Day is one of the major events that represent our nationalism and nationhood.
If the country was not independent, we would not have received any position, title or dignity. As a nation, everyone needs to know how much sacrifice we have made in exchange for a country. The family members and relatives of the martyrs must constantly understand the bleeding of their hearts. To understand the significance of the mass uprising of the students and the public of 24, it is necessary to know the history of these historical events. On the occasion of the day, black flags were hoisted on important buildings of the university, including the Vice-Chancellor's building. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Under the leadership of Niaz Ahmed Khan, wreaths were laid at the cemetery in the premises of the University Central Mosque, the memorial in the premises of Jagannath Hall, memorials in various residential areas, and the Mirpur and Rayer Bazar Martyred Intellectuals Memorials.
In addition, prayers were offered at various halls and mosques, including the University Central Mosque, for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyred intellectuals, and special prayers were offered at various places of worship.
