To share the joy of Sharadiya Durga Puja, the humanitarian organization 'Earn and Live Foundation' distributed essential food assistance among 33 underprivileged Hindu families in Mirzapur Upazila of Tangail district on the day of Mahanavami.
The distribution drive was carried out across the Sahapara and Deohata areas of the upazila. Each beneficiary family received a package of essential food items, including rice, lentils, cooking oil, potatoes, onions, and puffed rice (muri).
Expressing her gratitude upon receiving the supplies, Sharmila Rani, a resident of the area, said, "There is no one to look after us during Puja. Every year as the festival approaches, I worry. I feel very happy to receive these food supplies today, and I pray for those who helped us."
Organizers noted that the initiative aimed to stand alongside helpless and underprivileged families regardless of religion or caste, ensuring financial hardship does not prevent anyone from participating in the festive celebrations.
Local representative Mukti Saha, Shikha Banik, a teacher at the 'Learn and Live' school for children with disabilities, volunteers Selim, Nasrin, Sumi, and Abdullah Bachchu, along with representatives from the Earn and Live Foundation, were present during the distribution program.
Commending the initiative, teacher Shikha Banik said, "Such a wonderful initiative has taken place in our village. The needy have received food support, and on behalf of local residents, we express our deep gratitude to the foundation."
Operating in Bangladesh since 2015, the Earn and Live Foundation undertakes various humanitarian projects, including food distribution, orphan support, clean water access, housing assistance for vulnerable families, and specialized educational programs for children with disabilities.
