Jahir Raihan Mukti, a seasoned local politician and former political prisoner, has emerged as a prominent candidate among grassroots party activists for the post of General Secretary of Nakla Upazila BNP  in Sherpur district.

Party activists attribute his growing support across grassroots units to his extensive political experience, active involvement in anti-government street movements, and steadfast support for local party workers during difficult periods.

Jahir Raihan Mukti began his political career through student politics, serving as the former President of Nakla Upazila Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal. He subsequently held key organizational roles, including Senior Vice-President of Nakla Upazila Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal and Joint Convenor of Nakla Pourashava BNP. Party sources noted that he faced political persecution and imprisonment on multiple occasions throughout his political career.

Grassroots party members highlighted that upcoming council meetings or committee restructurings should prioritize tested, experienced, and dedicated leaders who stood by the party during challenging times.

Supporters expressed confidence that appointing Jahir Raihan Mukti to the general secretary post would invigorate organizational activities across Nakla Upazila, strengthen internal unity, and enhance communication between top leadership and grassroots activists.

As discussions intensify regarding the future leadership of Nakla Upazila BNP, local party members anticipate that higher party leadership will evaluate candidates based on political sacrifice, organizational efficiency, and long-term contributions to the party.
