Manikganj Press Club election held : Zahangir President, Shahanur Secretary

Zahangir Alam Biswas has been elected president and Md Shahanur Islam General secretary in Manikganj Press Club's bi-annual (2025-2027) elections in Manikganj Press Club. Voting was held at Manikkganj Press Club on Saturday from 3 pm to 5pm.
Later, after the counting of the vote, Election Commissioner Suruj Khan announced the results. The total number of voters was 54 votes.
Jahangir Alam Biswas (Staff Reporter Daily Star and RTV) has been the united winner of the post. Md. Shahanur Islam (District Representative Daily Nayadiganta) won the post of general secretary and the nearest rival Akram Hossain (Editor of a local daily Amar News and district representative of the daily Amar Sangad and Bangla Vision television) got 6 votes.
Shahjahan Biswas (District Representative The Daily New Age) and Abul Bashar Abbasi have been elected as vice-president. Ripon Ansari (District Representative GTV and The daily Manob Zamin) have been elected unopposed as Joint General Secretary.
Jahidul Islam Chandan (Dipto TV District Representative) has been elected as the vice-general secretary. Akmal Hossain (Editor of the local weekly Ognibindu) has been elected as sports and cultural secretary. Khandaker Sujan Hossain (Local weekly Tarunner Kotha editor) has been elected as the editor of the publicity and publishing secretary. Azizul Hakim (District Representative My TV and Daily Bangla) won without contest as the office secretary. Md. Shaheen Tarek (District Representative Daily Inqilab) has been elected unopposed without contest.
Earlier, the bi-annual general meeting was held at the Auditorium of the Zilla Parishad from Saturday morning to noon.
