Bangladesh Coast Guard has conducted a public awareness workshop on "Festival of Youth-2025" in Chandpur on Sunday afternoon.
Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid informed this through a press release.
The press release stated that since its establishment, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been tirelessly working to protect the lives and property of people in coastal and riverside areas, conduct rescue operations, and tackle natural disasters.
In recent times, various unwanted accidents have been occurring in the country’s coastal and riverside regions. These result in loss of lives and serious injuries. To prevent such widespread damage to lives and property due to these unwanted accidents, the Bangladesh Coast Guard regularly organizes public awareness workshops to increase awareness and teach various techniques.
In continuation of this, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, Coast Guard Station Chandpur conducted a public awareness discussion at Dwarkanath High School under Chandpur Sadar Upazila among teachers and students on various topics under the slogan "Come, let’s change the country, change the world," in the "Festival of Youth-2025." Topics included causes, remedies, and personal safety measures related to waterway vessel accidents during natural disasters and adverse weather, swimming, and various fire extinguishing techniques.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard has been continuing such public awareness activities to protect people’s lives and property and tackle natural disasters and will continue to do so in the future as well.
