
Killings on the rise in Sylhet

Killings have suddenly increased in Sylhet. in the last one week, six people were killed in the murders, including a college student, an arbitrageur. As a result, extreme anxiety has been created in the public mind. Doubts have arisen in normal life. Mystery has also been created about the role of the administration.
On Tuesday, a young man was killed by his opponent on the way to appear in court. Two murders took place in Sylhet district, two in Habiganj district and another in Sunamganj district.
It has been reported that a youth named Junedul Islam (27) was hacked to death in broad daylight on Tuesday morning near Rukanpur Jame Masjid in Fenchuganj Upazila of Sylhet. The deceased is the son of Juned Konai Mia of Kalampur in Balaganj upazila. On the way to appear in a court in Sylhet, the armed men attacked. Juned was killed and his brother Jahedul Islam (33) was seriously injured in the attack.
Fenchuganj police station OC Mo Arif Hossain confirmed the murder. However, no one was arrested in this incident. On Monday night, uncle Abu Sufian (33) killed his nephew Mizanur Rahman Rafi (24) in a house on Road No. 2 in Shahjalal suburb, an elite area of Sylhet city. Later the police recovered his bloody body. The deceased Mizanur Rahman Rafi is the son of Abdul Bari of Maizgaon, Hetimganj, Golapganj. And the killer Abu Sufian is the son of Badruddin of Borhanpur village in Barhal Union of Jokiganj and a businessman in Sobhanighat of the city.
According to the police, the murder took place due to a dispute between Rafi and Sufian over business money.
SMP Shahparan Police Station OC Md. Harunur Rashid Chowdhury said that his uncle killed his nephew with financial transactions in the suburbs. And the housewife seems to have committed suicide. When talking to the doctors, they are also talking about suicide. An autopsy can confirm the cause of death.
The police recovered the body of an unidentified youth wrapped in a sack last Saturday afternoon in Gataber area of Pail Union of Habiganj Sadar Upazila. The identity of the deceased could not be identified till Tuesday. Law and order forces could not arrest anyone involved in this incident.
In the attack of opponents in Kharai village of Jauwabazar union of Chatak upazila of Sunamganj, the arbitration personality of the area Md. Chandan Mia (60) was murdered.
Meanwhile, the police recovered the melted body of housewife Sumaiya Jannat Sumi (22) from the house No. 25 of Road No. 7 in the suburb of Sylhet Nagar on Wednesday morning, February 28. The deceased Sumaiya is the daughter of Shah Mainur Rahman of Kuchai village of Moglabazar police station in South Surma.
The previous day, Raisul Haque Tahsin (19), a class 12 student of Nabiganj Government College, was killed by his classmates in front of Chaud Hazari Market on Osmani Road in Nabiganj Municipal area of Habiganj on Tuesday night. Though publicly hacked to death, the killers of talented student Raisul are still at large.
Habiganj Superintendent of Police Akter Hossain (BPM Service) said that the police are working to arrest those involved in the two murders. It will be possible to arrest the killers soon. For this purpose, several teams of police have entered the field.
Farooq Mahmud Chowdhury, Coordinator of Sylhet Division of Citizen Sujan for Good Governance, said that due to the proper implementation of the law and the long delay in justice, murders are happening one after another.
Again, many criminals get away due to weak surveillance and weak investigation by law and order forces. He commented that crime can be reduced only if the law is strictly enforced and justice is ensured in a speedy time.
